Whatevere Hahahaha

One of the biggest highlights of my year (or, I daresay, my whole life), was to be the Overall Events Chairperson of RUSH: Palarong Medisina 2015 last January 24-25, 2015 at the grounds of De La Salle University - Dasmarinas (DLSU - D) and De La Salle Health Sciences Insitute (DLSHSI).

For the past year, I know I've talked a lot about APMC and Palarong Med in my social networks. Well, to fill you in, Palarong Medisina, an annual project of the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges - Student Network (APMC - SN), is a collaborative sports event of ALL medical schools of the National Capital Region-- Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (ASMPH), De La Salle Health Sciences Intitute (DLSHSI), Emilio Aguinaldo College - School of Medicine (EAC - SM), Far Eastern University - Nicanor Reyes Memorial Foundation (FEU - NRMF), Manila Central University (MCU), Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), San Beda College of Medicine (SBCM), Saint Luke's College of Medicine (SLCM), University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMC), University of the Philippines College of Medicine (UPCM), University of Perpetual Help - Binan (UPH - B), University of Perpetual Help - Jonelta (UPH - J), and University of Santo Tomas - Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (UST - FMS).

The main objective of the event is to foster camarederie and sportsmanship while having healthy competition. Win or lose, it is a testament that we are not just medical students but well-rounded future doctors of this generation.

This year, RUSH: Palarong Medisina 2015 was hosted by my beloved med school, DLSHSI and was co-hosted by OLFU and UST - FMS. We held 9 sports all in all -- Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Frisbee, Badminton, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Swimming, and the newest sport, Track and Field.

It wasn't an easy feat, to be really honest. As the over all project head, I found myself mostly just running on reserve energy and many times, at the verge of giving up. Thankfully, by design, I am surrounded by people who were very much willing to extend their able and helpful hands. I've been receivng influx of congratulatory messages from students of different med schools, but trust me, I don't deserve all of them. Much of it go to the people who worked hard with the team, the ones who stayed, and the ones who stood by our side. Hundreds of people were there all because we made it possible. Thank you, my dearest organizing team. We emerged bigger, better, and stronger this year! WE DID IT! :)

It was really overwhelming to see everyone doing what they're good at-- sports, cheer rallies, exhibition of schools spirit-- one cannot deny that the adrenaline rush was all over the place (One of the reasons why we named it RUSH, to begin with). And of course, it wouldn't be a celebrated sports event without the proclamation of the winning giants. Congratulations to the winners of Palarong Med 2015-- UST - FMS, ASMPH, FEU - NRMF, and DLSHSI. You guys are boss.
